There is modern Greek which is what I learned at Greek school which is at this present day spoken in Greece, and there is ancient Greek which is not everyday speak in Greece but for example is found in the church books used during a church service.
I can read the text in the church books as the alphabet is identical, however it is very difficult for me to understand because most of the words are not familiar to me.
