The Anglican Church has never been less than a Communion of the Catholic Church in England, or wherever! It has then always held the beliefs of the Catholic Church. As Bishop Ken, the Non juror put it the belief of the Church of the first thousand years before the split between east and west.

Anglican Catholic Answer

At the Reformation they were faced with a choice or a series of choices.

1. They passed a law in Convocation pointing out that the Bishop of Rome has no jurisdiction in this country

2. In 1536, Convocation affirmed the English belief in the First Four Ecumenical Councils and all others sith,[since,]that time consonant to the same. Which most scholars accept as affirming the Seven Ecumenical Councils of Catholic antiquity

The above were re-affirmed in 1537,1546 and by parliament in 1559 and by Convocation again in 1572

These laws, or canons confirmed Anglicanism's place in the Catholic Scheme of things.
