They have long powerful tails that they use as an extra limb, to swing from branches and lianas. they live up in the canopy where they can find lots of fruit to eat which animals on the ground are unable to reach.

Their claws help them dig for food and capture small prey. Their long hands also allow them to easily swing from tree to tree, giving them the perfect mode of locomotion for their arboreal habitat. The tail of the golden lion tamarin is also especially long, sometimes even longer than their body.
