RY Crystal is Known to be a very fine "Lead Crystal" it is 30% lead which makes it a "Lead crystal" under the European crystal standards. Lead in a crystal means the amount of light it reflects, anything above 28% lead is considered as high quality. RY Crystal is a merging European crystal best known for their dazzaling shine on the Famous RY Crystal Chandeliers.
Crystal glass contain lead.
Lead is in the isometric crystal system.
AnswermaybeNo. All crystal does not contain lead. There was a time that the increased lead content was considered a good thing, making it heavier and giving it a more substantial "heft" when you picked it up. It was a selling point and commanded a higher price. Now, however, it has been determined that the lead can leach into the liquid inside, like in a wine decanter that is filled with wine and sits quite a while. And, of course, lead in the blood stream causes many horrific symptoms and contact should be eliminated or at least reduced as much as possible. There are crystal products that have no lead, though.
Some glass has lead in it, specifically crystal glass. The lead acts as a flux in glass, allowing the grains of silica sand to be melted at a lower temperature. Glasses are generally denoted by their flux, so you get soda glass, flint glass, borosilicate glass, lead crystal etc. Lead also lends crystal the attribute of a high refractive index, making it a very clear glass and also soft. It can be easily cut with designs and polished. George Ravenscroft developed the first viable lead glass.
The lead in the crystal gives it a brighter shine. The lead also allows the glass to be cut in intricate and unusual ways. Each piece has to be individually crafted - I guess "craft" is a good word to describe the making of lead crystal pieces. Ordinary glass can be mass produced and molded to form the design- not crafted.

The inclusion of at least 24% lead oxide in the composition is required by law for crystal to be called full lead crystal. The lead lends brilliance and weight to the product. Crystal without lead is still crystal, i.e. clear glass, however, it is more commonly perceived as &quotglass". The lead also make the crystal softer and more conducive to cutting. This is why the lead crystal is cut and for the most part, the unleaded crystal is not cut.
If a decanter is lead crystal, there should be a mark on the bottom of the item. You can read more about lead crystal at http://www.wisegeek.com/what-is-lead-crystal.htm.
Crystal glass contain lead.
True lead crystal glassware is rare nowadays because of its possible health risks. Lead-free crystal glass is typically sold nowadays because it does not contain lead oxide.
Lead is in the isometric crystal system.
No lead crystal is safe to drink/dispense from. All leaded crystal leaches lead into any beverage contained therein. Acidic beverages pull lead from crystal faster than other liquids. Even very small amounts of lead are unsafe for consumption and can cause brain damage.
Crystal and glass are the same thing. Crystal is glass that contains lead. When lightly tapped it has a sharp ring compared to plain glass.
It has lead in it.
Lead crystal will leach a small amount of lead into foods placed in the container. For short durations, such as serving, they are safe. However, lead crystal is unsuitable for long term storage, or for use by pregnant women or small children due to lead poisoning concerns.
