Before the existence of The Bible in the form of 66 Books which is God's written Word to mankind, for our teaching according to 2 Timothy 3: 16,17. A large portion of the record is made up of actual pronouncements made by Jehovah God and details as to the teachings and activities of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

A report published in 1971 shows that there are possibly 6,000 handwritten copies containing all or part of the Hebrew Scriptures; the oldest dates back to the third century B.C.E. Of the Christian Greek Scriptures, there are some 5,000 in Greek, the oldest dating back to the beginning of the second century C.E

Sir Frederic Kenyon wrote: " The first and most important conclusion derived from the examination of them ( the papyri ) is the satisfactory one that they confirm the essential soundness of the existing texts.

When Jesus was on earth he taught God's Word to the crowds . Matthew 4: 4 reads " It is written: You must live, not on bread alone, but on every word that comes from Jehovah's mouth. And all that comes from Jehovah God's mouth is written in the Bible, which is the library that was given to mankind and beneficial for teaching and setting things straight, as confirmed in 2 Timothy 3: 16,17. Some of the Apostle Paul 's writings reminds Christians to trust the wisdom of God's inspired Word and to rely on it in all they do.

2 Peter 1: 21 reads. " For prophecy was at no time brought by man's will, but men spoke from God as they were moved by holy spirit". Which means that God directed the writing, much as a businessman uses a secretary to write letters for him. The idea of receiving messages from someone out in space should not surprise us. Even humans have sent messages and pictures out of space.

The Bible is the letter from God, that Jesus expects everyone to follow, and was not sent to a particular church. In fact Jesus said that he was the way in these words. " I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." Read John 14: 6.

So to answer your question. The letter that Jesus gave is the Word, written in 66 Books called the Bible.

Kind regards

What four of the seven churches of Asia will remain until Jesus returns?

The letters to the seven churches are millennial in scope. Although they were addressed to seven individual physical churches that no longer exist, the letters were also about all churches in general and about all of us as individuals. Seven times in the seven letters, Jesus says (through John) "I know your works." In other words Jesus is emphasizing "works" in these letters. In Revelation 2:26 He says, "He that overcometh and keepeth my works to the very end, I will give power over the nations." Jesus is talking about the millennial kingdom and a special kind of work that a believer must do. He is talking about the things that are done by the Holy Spirit through us. He is not referring to the works of the flesh, but to the works of the Spirit.
