In hardcore the G18 can kill with a few shots in short and medium range and quite possible if you have a steady hand ( not to be confused with the perk) to kill long range. In normal mode however, you would probably need to used half a clip to kill someone in short/ medium range and almost impossible to kill someone far away unless the enemy would be stationary for around 20 secs. In the end it depends on where you play on the effectiveness of the G18.
