u should have an avarege total of level 52 and it will be enough IF u have a great variety of Pokemon in ur Pokemon party.
For example, i had a jolteon, charrizard, lapra, nidoquen, greveler and pigeot. Each type is good against the league types

∙ 12y agoYour Pokemon can be as low level as 65 as long as you have type advantages and LOTS of items.
To be safe, the ideal range is 75 and above. His Pokemon range between 80 and 88. Look up his Pokemon before hand to see what Pokemon will be effective against him
You might want to try battling him as is (saving before hand, of course) just to see how you will fare, and then train accordingly.
When battling him, bring several max revives, full restores, etc.
Don't give up though! Once you beat him, you can obtain the Hoenn and Kanto starters along with Kyougar/Groudon.

∙ 14y agowell when i went through the elite four i barely made it with lv 50s so i recommend maybe lv 63-65 and then maybe one a little higher

∙ 12y agoin diamond/pearl/platinum, your Pokemon should be about 50-65, if not higher. you should also take full advantage of dialga/palkia being availvable to you. use them against the elite 4.

There is no kanto league in heart gold or soul silver, when you have collected all the kanto badges, you go to the entrance gate just before victory road. Go left and you will reach mount silver, keep going till you find mount silver, there are very strong Pokemon in and around mount silver, between level 40-50. You will need flash to progress through mount silver...at the end you will find a trainer based on Ash Kechum, he has immensly strong Pokemon, your team will need to be all at least level 65. This is his team; Pikachu level 88 Lapras level 80 Snorlax level 82 Venusaur level 84 Charizard level 84 Blastoise level 84 Pikachu is the weakest due to being pre evolved. don't worry about it too much Use a strong Electric Pokemon against blastoise and lapras(not a grass type as they both know blizzard). This may also be useful for charizard. Flamethrower or psychic is the key to beating venusaur. Snorlax is tough, use good fighting moves against it.
