Well, the U.S. shares a border with Canada, so, all of the U.S. is near Canada, relatively speaking. But, Ohio is closer to Canada than the majority of the 50 states are. The northwest side of Ohio borders the southeast side of Michigan, and Michigan is directly across the Great Lakes from Canada. Actually, the peninsula of Ontario -- which is bordered by Detroit on the west side and Buffalo, New York and Niagara Falls on the east side -- is directly across Lake Erie from the north side of Ohio.
