The K-list identifies source specific wastes from specific sectors of industry and manufacturing. A waste must be in one of the following 13 categories to qualify as a K-listed hazardous waste.

  • Wood preservation,
  • Organic chemicals manufacturing,
  • Pesticides manufacturing,
  • Petroleum refining,
  • Veterinary pharmaceuticals manufacturing,
  • Inorganic pigment manufacturing,
  • Inorganic chemicals manufacturing,
  • Explosives manufacturing,
  • Iron and steel production,
  • Primary aluminum production,
  • Secondary lead processing,
  • Ink formulation, and
  • Coking (processing of coal to produce coke).

To find out more information about the K-list wastes, and about F, P and U-list wastes as well, check the Environmental Protection Agency's list on hazardous wastes.
