Europe is small and very crowded (about 1/3 the size of the US). Europeans came to America to: 1) Escape religious persecution 2) Own land, which was virtually impossible in Europe unless you were very rich. In America, they were giving it away for free, or amost free. 3) Lots of fertile land, lakes and rivers.

Why would the europeans want to come to America?

Europeans didn’t know North America existed until they literally bumped into it looking for an Asian water route. The natural resources found in North America drew Europeans to the land and for Europeans it looked like it was vast acres of empty lands. To a European to come to a place with no fences, no king’s lands, no laws on poaching, and it seemed to be not owned by anyone. As far as they were concerned the Native Americans didn’t count.
