Henry O. Flipper was the first African American cadet to graduate West Point. there is a book wrote about him, it is called the colored cadet at west point. it is about his struggles going to college. he was sentenced of having a relationship with a white woman, which was not allowed in those days. and was dishonorably charged fron the military. 30 years after his death he was pardoned and his status changed to honorably discharged.
