Marcel Marceau wanted to be an actor both in tribute to his father and because he loved the silent theatre. After his father died in Auschwitz concentration camp, he fled with his brother and joined the French Resistance. After the war he went to school for Pantomime. His father loved Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton, and Marcel found inspiration in those men too. It was a good thing too because he become the worlds Greatest Pantomime.
