It was an easy to learn, "singalong" kind of song, ideal for children and groups.
Also, it was the first time Ringo sang on a song that was released as a single, a double A-side, with Eleanor Rigby on the flip side. American DJ's gave both sides equal airplay.
The Beatles have made the movies A Hard Day's Night, Help!, Magical Mystery Tour, Yellow Submarine and Let It Be.
"A Hard Day's Night" (1964) "Help!" (1965) "Yellow Submarine" (1968). Animated.
A Hard Day's Night, Help, and Magical Mystery Tour (Yellow Submarine was also made about them, but they weren't in it)
The Beatles made 4 feature films; A Hard Day's Night, Help!, Yellow Submarine and Let It Be. Yellow Submarine is an animated film with a short cameo by the band at the end. The band also appeared in Magical Mystery Tour - a TV "special".There were also two documentaries made - What's Happening! The Beatles In The U.S.A. - which was re-released in 1991 in a re-edited form and the 1965 Shea Stadium concert was also filmed and made into a 50 minute documentary.
Nobody, legally; the Beatles' music is not available for such purposes, under the band's own contract. (Waivers were granted for the remasterings of their work, for Yellow Submarine, Let It Be... Naked, and the recently-reissued remasters.)
1966
The songs used in the Yellow Submarine film were remixed in stereo and issued on CD as the Yellow Submarine Songtrack. These are modern stereo mixes, in contrast to the ones made at the time, which now sound rather peculiar.

I assume you mean the record albums- yes they were big hits. By the way the movie based on the song-and book, inspired some sick but humorous vandalism when it made the papers- the Holland submarine was long displayed in a public park in Paterson, N.J. ( vandals paint Paterson submarine yellow- believed to be a stunt allied to the beatles film!) The sub now resides indoors in a museum. all stop.
