There are 3 catagories in respect to food consumption. Carnivors, herbivors, and omnivors. Carnivors are meat eaters, large cat breeds like tigers, mountain lions, ect. Herbivors are plant eaters, grazers and browsers, horses, cows, sheep, goats, ect. And omnivors which eat both meat and plants, humans, bears, pigs, most primates, bears, ect.
So depending on the type of animal, their main food sources will be meat, plants or a combination of meat and plants.
One of the foods that diurnal animals eat is flesh! They like to eat the insides of reptiles, fish, and other mammals.

Omnivore is the term for animals that consume a variety of foods.
they did not eat fish , animals and beans mst likely they don't eat most foods in winter time
One of the main foods was buffalo, but they also had fish from the rivers and other animals in the area. Crops were grown as well.
So that we may grow foods, and, deer and cow and other animals eat grass. We eat those animals as foods. And grass comes from soil.
