Confucianism and Taoism
Buddhism is the religion that started in India(sub-continent) and spread over china.
It started out as legalism, then it swayed to Confucianism.
China started with animism. From that sprang the philosophies of Taoism and Confucianism. Buddhism was introduced from the West. Christianity is pretty new in China, given its long history.
Hinduism started in India and is the predominant religion there, to this day. Buddhism also started in India and spread to China. Although there are still practicers of Buddhism in India, it is predominantly practiced in China.

China used to allow freedom of religion. Most of the royal family of China was murdered except for a young prince, who became the last emperor of China as child, after he disappeared as a teenager-China fell into communism and economic depression. China outlawed religion, then in 2003 started allowing the growth of Christianity for the benefit of China and it's people. Some persecution still exists there, hopefully all persecution will end.
