are the three pyramids of Giza
Egypt is the major answer.
The construction of the pyramids in Egypt primarily took place during the Old Kingdom period, around 2580 to 2560 BCE for the Great Pyramid of Giza. Other significant pyramids were built during this time, with the last of the major pyramids constructed around 1700 BCE. These monumental structures served as tombs for pharaohs and were part of a broader trend of monumental architecture in ancient Egypt.
A major accomplishment during Egypt's Old Kingdom, particularly the Fourth Dynasty, was the construction of the iconic pyramids, most notably the Great Pyramid of Giza. This monumental structure, built for Pharaoh Khufu, exemplified the advancements in engineering and architecture of the time. The pyramids served not only as grand tombs for pharaohs but also as symbols of their divine authority and the civilization's wealth and power. The Old Kingdom is often referred to as the "Age of the Pyramids" due to these remarkable achievements.

Pyramids of Giza
The construction of the Acropolis in Athens began in the 5th century BCE and continued for several decades. The iconic Parthenon temple, a major structure on the Acropolis, was completed around 438 BCE.
Not nearly! There are two other, similar, pyramids right next to it! As of 2008, there are a total of 138 Pyramids in Egypt, including the main three. In addition, there are a lot of Pyramids in Nubia (Numbering 220, there are more than in Egypt), although they look a bit different (They are much smaller, and taller for their size than the ones at Giza.) Although those are the two major Pyramid-building cultures, many cultures built some sorts of Pyramids. The Greeks and the Romans both built a few Pyramids. And, of course, there's the Luxor Hotel in Las Vegas :). However, there is another form of structure built in the ancient world similar to a Pyramid. These are called Ziggurats, although they are sometimes also referred to as Pyramids. The main builders of Ziggurats were the Sumerians and the Mayans, but you can find Ziggurats ANYWHERE if you look hard enough. They appear in Spain, Nigeria, Indonesia, China, India, With a sufficiently loose definition North America, and Peru.
