Many of the complex compounds stored in the seed are broken down into simpler compounds during hydration and sprouting of the seeds. Also changes in protein quality and fibre content during sprouting all add up to make the sprout more nutritious than the seed alone.

Why do plants produce more seeds than will actually grow?

They actually do grow, they are just pollinated in another area. They actually do grow, they are just pollinated in another area. So that there is a greater chance of the seeds growing. Think of it this way: If a pumpkin has 500 seeds, many of them won't grow because they will be eaten or die. So lets say 300 of the seeds grow, if the pumpkin had only 300 seeds in the first place even fewer of the seeds will grow. I hope this makes sense! ;)

Do crowded seed grow faster than uncrowded seeds?

Crowded seeds grow faster because they have more competition for water and nutrients so they have to hurry to grow into a plant. Uncrowded seeds grow slower becasue they have no competition so they can take as long as they want, the water will still be there.

From what plant parts do plants grow?

From the roots. All plant parts are grown for a reason, first the seeds are planted, the seeds are for starting the plant and for producing more, next the roots grow, the roots are for collecting food and minerals, next the stem sprouts, the stem is for guiding the foods and minerals to the entire plant, then the leaves sprout, the leaves soak up sun and oxygen for the plant to live, last but not least the produce comes out [you know what that's for].
