Because of the presence of the white colour in the nature - "The symbol of peace."
When the visible light of all wavelengths are combined, it is called white light.
Many objects do appear black or white when light falls on them. If they are black, it means that the object is absorbing all wavelengths of visible light and not reflecting any. If they are white, it means that they are reflecting all wavelengths of visible light and not absorbing any. The color of an object is due to the wavelengths of light that it reflects.
Visible light because some of the energy that reaches the earth from the sun is visible light. The visible light from the sun is white light. White light is visible light of all wavelengths combined. Light from lamps in your home as well as from the fluorescent bulbs in your school is also white light.

White light is what we see when light of all (or most) of the frequencies in the visible spectrum are emitted together from the same source. It is the combination of every visible light wave.
White does not absorb light - it reflects all visible light waves, while black absorbs all visible light and reflects nothing.
