When a fire runs out of things to burn, or runs out of fuel(oxygen) it will stop burning.
To stop a Sim from burning when they are on fire, click on them and select "Extinguish" or instruct them to "Stop, Drop, and Roll." Additionally, you can have another Sim extinguish the fire by clicking on the Sim on fire and selecting "Extinguish." If you have a fire alarm in the building, it will automatically call the fire department to put out the fire.

yes because it will stop the fire from burning there chest:L
Fire needs oxygen to continue burning. Water cuts of the supply of oxygen and hence the fire stops.
Get out of the house and call the fire service
If you cannot remove the fuel or reduce the temperature of the burning material, removing the oxygen, or other oxidizer, will stop a fire.

Burning liquid fires require a U.L. Class B fire extinguisher, or ABC, or BC.
it is a short fire.. not burning for long ^ Best answer I've seen for this question. I had suspected that the "burning" was a metaphor for something else, but this explanation makes more sense than any explanation of the metaphor I've seen.
firstly, they dont 'kill' the fire the put it out, usuing differnet ways, depending on what the fire is burning. and they put it out to stop fires burning places, that can damage the area. also to keep people and animals out of harm. hope this helped u :P lol
Fire requires three things: heat, fuel, and oxygen. If you take one of them away, then the fire will stop. By wrapping a heavy blanket around a burning object, it blocks oxygen in the air from getting to the fire and the fire goes out. This is why a fire blanket is standard safety equipment in school science labs.
