Here is a brief recap of what I found out about Antisocial Personality Disorder, among other Pd's, in a YouTube lecture based on the book Personality Disorders in Modern Life:

Antisocials violate others rights without seeing doing so as being necessarily wrong. They may even be proud of it, and end up bragging about it.

They are in short, "non-reflective and self-serving".

They have an ego syntonic about their irresponsible actions towards others, meaning their way of being, behaving, and thinking is natural to them and they find no fault with what it is they are doing.

In closing, having a personality disorder requires the inability for the person with it to see their way of being as wrong or deviant to societal norms.

Personally, I believe it also means not having a conscience that should be a part of one's superego in regards to the antisocial pd.

Are personalities hereditary?

Personality disorders are usually caused by trauma, usually some sort of abusive family background. This makes personality disorders harder to treat than mood disorders, which respond to medication. You can't inherit or pass on a personality disorder, but I would question the wisdom of even thinking of having a relationship with someone who has a personality disorder.

What is PNRI?

PreNatal Re-Imprinting. PNRI is a new interdisciplinary science and methodology that makes it possible to re-pattern or re-imprint, in a very natural and safe way, the central part of the brain (paleocortex) in order to remove maladaptive and self-destructive personality patterns. What percent of people are psychopaths?

There is no one definite answer. Five different doctors can examine one subject and come up with five different diagnosis. But there most definitely is a high percentage of APD or antisocial personality disorder. Some say as high as 95%. That is probably a pretty good estimate. And it makes sense. It takes a certain personality to kill over and over again, especially stranger murders.

Which best describes people who have a personality disorder?

First, there is no such thing as a perfect personality. However, the easiest way to find out if someone has been seeing a psycologist or some other type of mental health professional is to wait for the appropriate time to ask that person something to the effect of "have you talked with a therapist about that?". Besides that, it takes a long time to get to know someone.

Can historonic people fall in love?

Yes, however, they may not show it in the way that is is usually expressed. If the disorder is severe and un-treated this makes the person very difficult to deal with on a one to one basis. Histrionic personality disorder is more common in women and is very similar to Anti-social personality disorder in men and both disorders make for very hard long term relatioships because people with this disorders are usually very narcissitic. Any one entering into a relatioship with someone with Histrionic disorders needs to make sure the person is aware of the disorder and willing to seek treatment.
