Several factors:
1. Weight bearing exercise
2. adequate calcium intake
3. Sun exposure (for vitamin D synthesis. Calcium cannot be absorbed without vitamin D)
4. Balanced diet, including an adequate intake of all essential nutrients.
5. Don't do drugs, some on them can inhibit proper growth and development in general.
The majority of bone health and mass is accrued during adolescent years, so the best time to strengthen bones is during adolescence.

The substances that makes the bone hard and strong are calcium and phosphorous. They are minerals found in our food. They are the main substances that make the bones hard and strong.
Calcified bones are hard but not really solid. Spongy bone is hard with tiny holes in it. Periosteum is thin but very strong. The other name for it is outer membrane, it helps to rebuild bone cells. The last is cartilage. It is strong material that holds two bones together and allows them to glide over one another. Skull iz also a very strong bone.
Periosteum is the hard strong layer of bone
Bone is a composite material, like fiberglass (something hard [and thus brittle] in a matrix of a more flexible substance. In fiberglass the glass makes the (fishing rod) strong, the plastic makes it tough. In bone, the calcium salts make it strong and hard, the connective tissue makes it tough.
it makes your bone grow good and strong!
bone marrow
Compact bone.
It contains calcium which is a substance that does not weight. Therefore it makes bones be strong and hard. If you took the calcium, the bones would be flexible and not hard at all.
Compact or cortical bone is hte hard, strong layer of bone.
