depending on the vehicle, it could be the switch in the a/c control head unit or the reostat.which is usually located under the dash on the passenger side, on the blower motor housing.
Perhaps a bad fan resistor
I believe you have a relay that runs the high speed for the heater fan motor. The relay should be located in the power distribution box under the hood.
It could be the high speed heater motor relay is stuck on or the switch itself is broken.
12 speed, you mean 1 or 2 speed? Anyway, when a fan speed control only works on high it almost always means the Resistor Pack is defective and needs replacing. It can be the speed control itself but it is highly unlikely. 99% of the time it is the Resistor Pack.
I believe it is just to the left of your fan speed control knob for your heater / air conditioning
now when you say replaced heater fan multi speed are talking the fan or the switch because ther is a fan speed resitor that can go bad and fan only works on high speed which can cause conector to get very hot and cause insolation on the wires to melt and cause a short in the harness making fan run constantly.
A device known as a resistor block has coils of wire. each coil has windings that are larger and larger to provide faster and faster fan speed. a fan speed switch directs current to the appropriate coil and the output voltage changes the fan speed. Since coils generate a lot of heat, the resistor block is normally found mounted on the heater/ac box or ducting to allow moving air to keep it cool.
To check the heater fan speeds on a 1998 Chevrolet Tracker, locate the climate control panel on the dashboard. The fan speed can be adjusted using the fan speed dial or buttons, typically marked with numbers or symbols indicating different speeds. If the fan is not functioning or speeds are inconsistent, you may need to inspect the blower motor, resistor, or related electrical components for issues.
To fix the heater fan on a 1997 Acura TL, first check the fuse related to the heater fan in the fuse box, as a blown fuse can prevent it from working. If the fuse is intact, inspect the fan motor and wiring for any signs of damage or disconnection. You can also test the blower motor resistor, as a faulty resistor may cause the fan to stop working or function only at certain speeds. If these components are in good condition, the issue may lie in the climate control switches or the fan speed control circuit.
If this is in reference to heater fan speed control, it is typically mounted inside, on the firewall, on the passenger side, under the glove box.
the fan control is on the left side of the heater control assembly, center of the dash. the resistor block which is probably what your asking about is above the front seat passengers feet behind the hush panel.
First check your fuses. Next check your fan to see if it is working and if the wires are hooked up. The fan is located in the engine compartment on the passenger side. If the fan tests good it is your heater relay located on the heater core cover or the fan switch on the heater control. The heater control is in the passenger compartment. The fan switch will usually work on at least one setting.
