Steel is simply iron with a small percentage of carbon. It oxidizes (rusts) easily. Stainless steel has added chromium, but also may contain any of the following: nickel, niobium, molybdenum, or titanium. Stainlees steels form a very thin layer of chromium oxide on the surface which protects it from further oxidation. While stainless is not stain-proof, it does stain less than carbon steel. Most stainless steels are non-magnetic, or very weakly magnetic.
Well, the answer lies in the question; by saying 'real' stainless steel, you are implying that there are fake metals which go under the name 'stainless steel', thus the difference is that the stainless steel in refigerators is actually stainless steel, and the fake stainless steel is not...thus your question is answered...

True stainless steel will not rust.
Asus makes several selections of stainless steel towers to choose from.
A steel is considered to be stainless if it contains 13% or more chromium.
A Plus Warehouse makes stainless steel garage work benches.
Accu-Tube is a company that makes stainless steel tubing. They make stainless steel tubing for medical purposes that are hypodermic. They make sizes from small diameters to large diameters.
The addition of other metals makes steel stainless.
What makes steel stainless.

steel isn't as refined but stainless is well stainless and shiny oohlala hot bod Stainless steel is an alloy (mixture) that has chromium mixed in. The chrome makes ordinary steel harder, more brittle, and more resistant to rust and stains, hense, stainless steel.
Many stainless steels are stronger than mild steel. Stainless steel is also corrosion resistant to many different environments where mild steel is not.

Easy. A rod or electrode used in welding stainless steel. Or to "clad" a surface with stainless steel. (Nothing more than laying down a layer or layers of stainless.) MIG wire also comes in stainless steel. Their are different types of stainless steel and rods/wire/electrodes to use on them.
