The blue color of the sky is due to Rayleigh scattering. The the shorter wavelengths (blue) in the white light from Sunlight are absorbed by the gas molecules in the air. The absorbed blue light is then radiated in different directions. It gets scattered all around the sky. Whichever direction you look, some of this scattered blue light reaches you and you see the blue light from everywhere overhead making the sky look blue.
The same principle makes the sea look blue.
At sunset the light must travel farther through the atmosphere before it gets to you. More of the blue light is reflected and scattered and the only the longer wavelengths (red) are left in the direct beam that reaches your eyes, making the setting sun red.
Sky blue or powder blue.
it makes sea blue, makes sky blue, it is the only color which reflects
its white.. but the sky reflects the ocean wich makes it blue (the sky is blue)
the sky is blue because the suns rays are different colors and the majority that get through our atmosphere are blue.
Sky, blueberry, blue waffle, blue raspberry, and my desktop on my computer.
pollution and lots of it.
the addition of white. then the dark blue will become sky blue, which is a tint of dark blue.
Yes, the scattering of sunlight by the gases and particles in the atmosphere is what causes the sky to appear blue. Shorter blue wavelengths are scattered more than other colors, making the sky predominantly blue during the day.
The ocean makes the sky blue because of a process called Rayleigh scattering. When sunlight hits the Earth's atmosphere, the shorter blue wavelengths are scattered more than the other colors, making the sky appear blue. The ocean reflects this blue light, further enhancing the blue color of the sky.
The sky appears blue due to Rayleigh scattering, where shorter blue wavelengths of light are scattered more by molecules in the Earth's atmosphere, making them more prevalent in the sky. This scattering of sunlight is responsible for the blue color we see during the day.
The fact that nitrogen (79% of earths atmosphere) reflects and scatters blue light.
