There are many chemicals used for carpet cleaning like: Ammonia, Bleach, Methylene chloride, Phosphoric acid, Sodium hypochlorite (bleach) etc.
there are two that i can think of: the coconut palm, the fibres are extracted from the coconut husk, these are then brushed and spun and made into coir mats and carpets. the second one is the hemp plant, the fibers are extracted and can be used in the manufacture of cloth and mats. I suppose cotton could also be used for carpets and mats as well

Carpets can be if you are allergic to the type of material from which they are made. Carpets can also become dirty, collect germs, and collect allergens such as tobacco smoke and cat hair. Carpets can cause physical injury if you somehow slide across them. Carpets often are not allowed in the kitchen or dining area of restaurants because of sanitation reasons. There is no way to completely disinfect a carpet.
