In passive solar design, the building is designed to make use of the sun to warm its walls, floors and roof during the winter, and to reject too much heat from the sun in summer. It is called passive because it does not use any mechanical or technical products like solar panels.
The materials you could use to make a model of a solar eclipse are:Small appleLarge handful of clayTwo pencilsNotebookPencilLamp
I admit that I am confused by the question. If you mean converting the power of the sun into electriciy, then yes. The process of converting solar energy (from the sun) into electricity or heat will consume nonrenewable resources, either by making electricity with solar cells or by building homes (or other buildings) using passive solar heat. However, you can recycle both building materials and solar panel materials to low the environmental costs to both. There is a cool site to make your own solar panels where they list resources to get used materials, such as used solar cells, for building your solar power system. Cardboard, red wire, black wire, some resistors and LEDs, a small motor maybe, a cellphone battery if you want to be fancy, and of course, a baby solar panel or two.
Solar energy is not bad, however, the production of materials to produce free, clean energy has its negatives. For instance, it requires a great amount of fossil fuels and using rare materials to make the solar panels. Chromium and mercury are waste materials that cause disposal issues.
My house uses solar energy from the solar panels mounted on the roof.
The location of a building's placement of window's and careful selection of materials can make the best use of "passive heating". it is basically the warming effect of the sun, passive heating will reduce your energy bills, as less energy is needed throughout the home
Models for solar system can be made out of ordinary trash. Using disposed cans and plastic materials, one can make a full size solar system model representing all of its components.
Passivation is defined as the process to make a material "passive" in its relation to another material before the materials are used together.
Solar energy created electricity from sunlight. There are no resources used from the planet (apart from the materials used to make the panels).
