From September 11-14, 1786, the Annapolis Convention was held. This political convention was held to discuss and develop a unified opinion regarding the protectionist trade barriers put in place by individual states. As a result of this Convention, the Philadelphia Convention of 1787 was held which produced the U.S. Constitution.
