In the last few decades, most Plumbing in the UK has been installed with copper pipes. The word 'plumbing' comes from the Latin 'plumbum', meaning lead, which is what the Romans used for plumbing.
Copper is used most often. Galvanized pipe will corrode and rust on the inside. But PVC is also used these days. Polybutylene was used from 1978 to 1995, but has proven to be unreliable, and has now been banned.
Copper is used in electrical wiring AND..... water pipes in the home!
So Copper is used to make metals! If I find anything else I will add it later!
Hope you find this useful!! :D xx
Copper. It is malleable and ductile, making it able to bend and twist into water pipes.
More often than anything else - copper. Years ago, homes were commonly plumbed with steel pipe, but that was problematic in the long run from many angles.
metal is used to make water pipes because it does not break in unequal expansion of heating due to water
They are or should be copper or PEX.
Copper
Copper, Brass, Yellow Brass , Red Brass, Galvainzed steel, Galvanized wrought , Yalloy
We usually don't find nickel pipes, as in pipes made of nickel metal. We do find that nickel is added to other metal(s) to make an alloy that can be used to make different kinds of pipe. Nickel is added to steel alloys to make different kinds of steel pipe, and these pipes find use in a variety of applications.
galvanized water lines, cast iron drain lines, sometimes lead pipes, terracotta or clay pipes, and in rare cases wooden pipes.
Pure copper is too soft to be any use so an alloy of copper and iron (or a similar metal) would be used.
copper metal is ussualy used for making pipes

Pipes, wires.
I think aluminum isn't used in water pipes because it's a type of paper metal. Therefore, it's way too fragile. Water's weight might rip right through it.
Copper has extremely low reactivity with water which is why it is used to make water pipes.
BECAUSE ITS EXPENSIVE IDIOT. Unless someone is super rich and wants to make pipes out of gold for the most stupidest reason, that's the only way it will be used. But why the hell would you want to WASTE gold like that??? Water pipes are hidden so theres no point in using such a beautiful mineral. Try another metal that doesn't rust other than gold -.-
Most drain pipes are made of copper
