Wood song is about a forty year old man training dogs for the Iditorod it's set in Alaska and is mostly about how he learns from the dogs but still knows nothing about the woods or the creatures inside it. It was a required reading for school and even though I've read LOTS of books ( my bedroom is the house library ) I've never read one as boring as this one was
