The best tool for the job would be an incident light meter, to measure the light that falls on the subject rather than the light that reflects from it. Most hand held incident meters are also reflective meters. Failing that, an 18% gray card and a meter reading of the entire card (does not have to be in focus; taking care not to cast a shadow on the card) would also be good.
Sunlight traveling through a window is an example of transmission. The window transmits light. It could also be an example of refraction, as the light is slightly bent when it travels through the window.
The led light in the window switch is not replaceable. It is only serviced with the entire switch.
View camera lenses project the image reversed and upside down directly on to the viewing screen. Therefore it is not possible to place a metering device between them, and there is no reflex system that the light can pass through in order to be metered. Aside from this, the conventional wisdom would be that this is an advanced system of photography and you would understand hand held meters and their use.

Any light that isn't sunlight (i.e. indoor lighting, lamps)
Some of the light will pass through the window. Some of the light will be reflected by the window. A small amount of light will be absorbed by the window. This amount could be increased for certain wavelengths by UV or IR coating. The light that passes through the window will be refracted (or bent) slightly. However, it will not be significant for a thin window pane.
