∙ 8y agoIsraelis need to fence in their schools and post guards for fear of terrorist attacks. The entire populace is in a constant state of alert. They need to check everyone's bags not only at airports, but at schools, hospitals, train stations, shopping malls, sports events, theaters, museums, etc., since there have been hundreds of terrorist attacks at such venues. There are successful and unsuccessful terrorist incidents every day of the year. Even synagogues have been sprayed with gunfire (January 2015).
Israel's borders are watched, to prevent terrorist infiltration. Israel built the border wall, only after hundreds of civilians were killed by suicide bombers who had infiltrated from the Palestinian areas.
Gaza is kept contained ("blockaded") only because of the thousands of terrorist incidents, and rockets, that were and still are being fired from there against Israeli towns.
Israel finds itself in the untenable situation of having its civilians constantly under threat and under attack, while at the same time remaining under unequaled and unbalanced scrutiny by the media and by foreign governments. Israel contorts itself in its efforts to avoid killing Arab civilians, but is viciously denounced internationally when there are collateral deaths.
In 2006, thousands of Hezbollah rockets rained down on Israel; and the same happened in 2014, courtesy of Hamas.
