what an incredibly simple question.
it just so happens that this was my first guitar.
mine is an SG but if this is not yours then you should take it to the shop you bought it and ask.
I dont know What is most popular but the most common are fender, gibson, marshall, and epiphone.

An epiphone can be easily found and purchased at a number of local or national retail stores that specialize in music. A guitar store, such as Sam Ash will certainly carry a epiphone.
Epiphone guitar headstock marked used because it did not pass inspection serial number replaced with used mark to void any warrenty claim
The code seems to be in the box of the guitar, the big number above the barcode.
There are a number online websites where on can purchase the Epiphone Les Paul II guitar. Sweetwater, Sam Ash, Amazon, Musician's Friend, Guitar Center, and Music 123 are all online sources where this guitar can be purchased.
You can see the serial number on a Gibson, on the inside of the guitar.
To check an Epiphone serial number, locate it on the back of the headstock or inside the body of the guitar. The serial number typically consists of a combination of letters and numbers that indicate the model, production year, and factory location. You can verify the serial number's authenticity and details by visiting Epiphone's official website or using their serial number lookup tool. Additionally, you can consult guitar forums or databases for further information on specific serial number formats.
Epiphone is to Gibson what squier is to fender. A 'sister' company. Despite this, epiphone were producing instruments before Gibson, but that doesn't matter. High end Gibson instruments are produced in America, as opposed to epiphones which i believe are built in Korea. Gibsons generally feature slightly differing specifications in terms of dimensions and weight. Gibsons also feature higher quality parts, as youd expect from the much higher price. This is not to say that epiphones are bad instruments at all - i have one and it is fantastic. The name on the headstock also alters the price.
The serial number 8802229 on your Epiphone PR-300 indicates that it was likely manufactured in 1988. Epiphone typically uses a format where the first two digits represent the year of production. Therefore, your guitar would be around 35 years old as of 2023.
