First of all is that the 94 suburban has a 4L60E transmission in it. Therefore it will no work in the 87 model.
4L60 is the most common automatic transmission in GMC trucks
They were not used on that year model. The 93 transmission is computer controlled. Time to take it to a transmission shop.

I have a 1998 Suburban with 60E transmission. It uses Dextron II. The 80E does as well. I used some stuff that supposed to work for Ford and GM cars. Seems to do ok.
