The Zodiacal constellations are along the ecliptic... and you are born in a given sign when the Sun is in that sign... ergo, the time of year you can NOT observe any given zodiacal sign is 4 to 6 months closest to the calendar period associated with that astrological sign. (i.e. the constellation is in the daylit sky )

Cancer is in July...
so you can see the constellation Cancer the best during the winter.


Cancer has no particularly bright stars... you will need to be in an area where the sky is very dark at night, away from cities and when the moon is not out to effectively make out Cancer.
