Ectopic pregnancy accounts for 10-15% of all maternal death; the mortality rate for ectopic pregnancy is approximately one in 2,500 cases.

The above figures do not differentiate between treated and untreated ectopics. This is important because, when diagnosed early and treated appropriately, ectopics have a very low mortality rate. But if NOT diagnosed and treated in a timely manner, ectopics may be fatal. How often this would occur, we cannot know for sure. Based on data from prior to the advent of ultrasound and 21st century medical care, one can estimate that at least 2/3'rds would likely spontaneously abort with no intervention. Although this might be a low end estimate, since many women with ectopics do not even realize they were ever pregnant, they just have a late and heavy menstruation which was actually an ectopic fetus miscarrying. However, which of the rest will rupture and die, we don't know exactly. There is no ethical manner of coming up with an exact number (i.e. we cannot just observe all ectopics and count the number who die).

What is Influenza mortality rate 1700s?

During the 1700s, influenza mortality rates were not systematically documented, making it difficult to provide precise figures. However, outbreaks of influenza were known to occur, and historical accounts suggest that mortality rates could vary significantly, often exacerbated by factors like malnutrition and lack of medical care. Some estimates indicate that mortality could range from 0.1% to 1%, but these figures are largely speculative due to the lack of reliable data from that era.

How many people die from Deep Vein Thrombosis a year?

Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is associated with approximately 100,000 to 300,000 deaths annually in the United States alone, primarily due to complications such as pulmonary embolism. Globally, the figures can vary, but estimates suggest that DVT and its complications contribute to hundreds of thousands of deaths each year. Early detection and treatment are crucial in reducing mortality associated with DVT.
