the thought to live that one day they might be free that no matter how hard they tried everyone had a chance to live that nothing could stop them IF they worked together they had faith
right now it occurs in the survivors and to some degree in the surviving perpetrators. This of course depends uopn your definition of the Holocaust, if you believe that it stopped with the surrender of Nazi Germany and that anyone who died the next day did not die because of the Holocaust, then you would say that it does not occur anymore, but if you believe that it is still occuring until the last survivor dies, then it is occuring where they are.
Presumably it will continue ...
Difficult to answer, first nations must declare this is unacceptable and pledge substantial miltiary forces to enforce their will. But people are fickle from one day to the next, and people make up nations. These acts are still carried out everyday in countries in Africa, the middle easte, and asia. But no one is raising alarm or willing to do anything about it. The people have to get motivated and in turn the government will get motivated to do something about it.
The death toll was highest at the extermination camps: * Auschwitz (group) - at least 1.1 million * Trelinka - 850,000 + * Belzec - 434,508 Jews plus an unknown number of gypsies The camp with the highest death rate (that is smallest number of known survivors) was Belzec, with only two (!) known survivors. Treblinka, with only about 120 survivors would rank next.
Suvivors like Elie Wiesel had seen the separation of their familes. That was all too painful, he wanted to be reunited with his mother and his sisters. He saw the death and wanted to survive. He wanted to see them again and he wanted to survive Hitler. Others considered the camps as one of Hilter's games or tricks they wanted to outwit him and survive. They made friends and tried to be with family members in the camps. They looked forward to eating and living.
People who lived through the Holocaust were motivated to stay alive because of a variety of reasons. Some have attributed their survival to faith and belief in God, while others have said that the kindness they saw among the other prisoners motivated them to keep going.

A Holocaust is not a regular occurrence. It was a policy of genocide instigated by the Nazi German state up to 1945. Hopefully there will be no "next Holocaust".
it doesont...because in holocaust they kill lots of people
The book after "Darkness Falls" in the Survivors series is "The Broken Path."
Some may argue that a holocaust has already begun because of the high rates of abortion.
