Nebi is a 14 year old Egyptian scribe who works for his master chief of police, Setka .During a picnic overlooking the Nile.Then Nebi spots riders coming towards them who is led by Count Nimlot, a big war lord. He came to visit the chief of police to try to settle their problems. But when Setka declines Nimlot orders his men to kill all of Setka's men. Nimlot's men slaughter Nebi's master. Although Nebi was wounded, he rushes over to his master's side to try to help him. Setka's last words to Nebi when he was dying were (Nebi. You tell … tell all to the king.) Nebi then knowing that the pharaoh's northern territory is no longer safe he escapes as the only living witness. Afterwards Nebi goes on a desperate mission through the very hot and dry desert to tell Piankhy, King of Kush, while he is being chased Count Nimlot who murdered his master, who desperately wants to keep Nebi from telling Piankhy what happened. He then faints because of dehydration. When Nebi wakes up he is in a small town and learns that he was found and taken care of. Nebi asks the people who took care of him if they could take him to the king. The people say it is too far away but they could take him to see Piankhy' sister named Amonirdis's .Nebi agrees to see her. When he arrives at Amonirdis's palace he tells her exactly what happened but when he is speaking Nimlot arrives at the palace. Nimlot tries to convince Amonirdis that Nebi is lying. Amonirdis then has Nimlot arrested because she trusted Nebi. That night Nebi spends his night a t the palace in the morning the guards announced that Count Nimlot escaped. So Amonirdis gives Nebi some guards to take him to the king. Nebi makes to the king. Nebi then tells the king about what had happened to his master and how Nimlot plans to take over Egypt. The king then decides to form an army to defend Egypt. Nebi then meets the king's son named Sheb who becomes friends with Nebi. Then they all go on boats but get attacked by Nimlot's boat .Nebi then saves many chariots. They win the battle and continue on the boats to the battle field. They then reach the battle field. They then have a big battle. The king brings more troops to battle and Nimlot is out numbered and decides to surrender. The king forgives Nimlot and decides to make peace with him. Nebi, so angry that the king forgave him tries to kill Nimlot but realizes what he is doing is just as bad as what Nimlot did to his master and lets him gone is then given a medal from the king for helping ,and goes back home to his family.
