There were several movie houses around the area of 63rd and Halsted Streets in Englewood during the 20s-60s, but the two main theaters were the Stratford (originally a vaudeville house) and the Southtown. Other theaters in the area included the Empress, the Englewood and the National (none of which are around anymore).
