It is questionable whether virus is "alive" or not. If it were alive it wouldn't have to do anything to live, it needn't food or drink. Virus is sometimes considered to be just a more complicated molecule.
The proteins in the capsid of the virus allow the virus to attach to the "docking stations" proteins of the host cell. Once they get attached to the cell of a living cell, they can take it over and "make" the living cell produce virus particles instead of needed cell parts.
These particles can assemble into more viruses and then they break out of the cell (killing it) and begin the process again. They cannot make more viruses on their own.
An organism is living. It can survive on its own with appropriate needs, such as nutrition. A virus is not truly living or non-living. It can not live on its own, but will not die on its own either. A virus is nucleic acids encased in a protein shell. It order to live, it must enter a cell, and take it over.
Yes, to get rid of a virus, another virus must take its place. Fortunately the new virus is mostly harmless.

a virus has no metabolism.a virus cannot reproduce independently, it must infect a cell.a virus is much smaller than a cell.
I think you mean DVD. There is no way to load a virus onto a CD. The virus must be safely downloaded, perhaps in a zip. file and then burned onto the DVD. The victim must then install the program.
no... however it may have become infected by a virus.
A cold virus can typical live for a day in a medicine bottle. This virus cannot last longer than this without a host.
