Verbal taboos refer to words or topics that are considered socially unacceptable or offensive to mention in conversation. The Mines Act of 1842 passed a law in Great Britain which made it illegal for women to work underground in mines. The most interesting reasoning behind this was that the hot conditions under the mines would cause women to work shirtless, as men often did. This was, at the time, seen as extremely socially unacceptable.

The different social problems include crime, taking alcohol, fighting, use of abusive language and many more. Social problems refer to things that a particular community views as unacceptable.
Second generation rights refer to those which as culturally, socially and economic in nature. For example, the right to protection against unemployment and the right to free elementary education. Essentially, these rights involve the state and their obligations to provide for their citizens.
