What native tribe did Andrew Jackson battle with?
In response to the Upper Creek massacre at Fort Mills, General Andrew Jackson raised a militia and fought the Upper Creek tribe at the Battle of Horseshoe Bend. He broke their resistance on March 27, 1814. He ordered the Creek Tribe to meet with him at Fort Jackson Mississippi. This is now Jackson, Mississippi. He forced them to cede 23 million acres of land which included most of Alabama and one fifth of Georgia.
