The nervous system is responsible for directing and coordinating activities of the other systems in the body. It receives and processes information from the sensory organs, sends signals to muscles and glands, and controls voluntary and involuntary actions.

The nervous system recives stimuly from the external environment through the sense organs and transmit their information through the central nervous system. The central nervous system analysis it and than sends signal to the stimulate responses by the specific organs.
The nervous system comprises the body's total response mechanism. It receives external information, sends that info to the brain for processing, and sends messages from the brain about appropriate response to the effector muscles and glands.
