The network is connected togother by a hub, switch or router.
I think you mean "gateway." The default gateway of any network is the device that connects the network to another network (for example the router in your home connects your Local Area Network (LAN) to the internet (a Wide Area Network). The IP address is typically signified by a 1 as the last octet (e.g. for a typical home network it would be 192.168.0.1) while all other devices on the network will have a 100+ value.
In a small network, a modem and a router are often combined into a single device known as a modem-router combo. The modem connects the home network to the Internet service provider, while the router allows multiple devices to share that Internet connection by creating a local network. This integration simplifies setup and reduces the number of devices needed for home networking.
Your router connects to the WAN (Wide Area Network) port to access the internet, while the LAN (Local Area Network) ports are used to connect devices within your home network. Typically, your modem connects to the WAN port of the router, and then devices like computers and printers connect to the LAN ports. This setup enables your router to distribute internet access to all connected devices.
A digital multimedia receiver (DMR) or digital media adapter (DMA) is a home entertainment device that can connect to a home network to retrieve digital media files (such as music, pictures, or video) from a personal computer ( or other media server and play it back on home theater system or TV.

Digital Security involves protecting your internet account and files from outside intrusions and virus attacks. It involves securing browsers, home networks and all the devices that are located on that network.
Rogers offers digital cable to its subscribers. This network is available at home, with a standard cable box or DVR/PVR, or you may subscribe for a service for your computer, and mobile devices.
