An Ether-Type file in regards to computer networking is a file that is created to tell the user which protocol is in the payload of the Ethernet frame.
in data transmission or processing it is like a sequence of bits used to mark the beginning and end of the frame .
X.25 was primarily replaced by newer networking technologies like Frame Relay and later on, IP-based protocols such as ATM (Asynchronous Transfer Mode). These technologies offered higher data transmission speeds and more efficient networking capabilities, making them more suitable for modern networking requirements.
HDLC - High level data link control used in conjunction with Networking protocols like PPP (point-to-point) protocol. According to RFC 1662, PPP uses HDLC like frame by providing address and control fields. For PPP these fields are constants 0xFF and 0x03.
In the computer networking industry the abbreviations BER mean Bit Error Rate. BER is the percentage of bits with errors collected divided by the total number of bits that have been transmitted, received or processed during a recorded time period or time frame.
Facebook is a social networking site used mainly by teenagers and young adults. The "black frame thing" around the photo can be removed by closing the photo.
Per JWG at CG, IDF stands for "Intermediate Distribution Frame", as opposed to an MDF "Main Distribution Frame". An IDF room contains networking equipment delivering connectivity to a localized area such as a building floor, row of cubicles, etc.
Frame-based systems support class inheritance, i.e. the process by which all characteristics of a class-frame are assumed by the instance-frame.
