They have limits.
They don't have enough money in their checking account to pay for that item. Sometimes it is bad to use a lot of credit cards instead of cash because they might end up never paying off their credit cards. They will end up in debt and never having enough money to live.
Yes, gas credit cards provide extra bonuses that will provide extra mileage for your car. You'll end up saving more money using that credit card for gas with the small bonuses. When you have a credit card solely dedicated to gas it'll be worth it in the end.
The four "x"s at the end of the credit card receipt indicate the last four numbers of the credit card. They are there to prevent identity theft and fraud. However, usually the last four numbers are visible and the previous twelve numbers are 'x'd out.
If you mean the card itself, it's usually 1 to 2 years. If you mean the credit you have used, it's at the end or near the end of each month.
There is no right number. At one time I had 8 credit cards. I cut that down to 3 because I wanted to eliminate 5 opportunities for an identity thief to get a hold of a credit card number I rarely use. I was prompted to do this when my wallet was stolen with all 8 credit cards in it. I had to dig up the 800 numbers for all 8 of those cards to get them cancelled. That was a real pain. Right now I have two Visa's and an American Express. And I will most likely get rid of one of the Visa's and just go to 2 credit cards. If you insist on keeping multiple credit cards; I would put the majority of them in a safe place and not carry them in your wallet. I certainly wouldn't walk around with 15 credit cards in a single wallet. At this point I use my debit card a lot more than I do any of my pure Credit Cards. In the end Cash is best.
It is not recommended to apply for new credit cards or use the ones that you told the debt consolidation company that you can't afford the minimum payment. What is the point of using credit cards when you are trying to get out of debt? If you use any of the cards that are in the process of debt consolidation, the company can end your contract and what are you going to do to get rid of your debt?
American Express cards expire at the end of the month printed on the card.
The ONLY way to avoid charges on a credit card - is to pay off the balance before the end of the current month !
Cash Back credit cards are some of the best a person can apply for. The reason is simple, in the end a person ends up paying less for whatever they used the card to purchase.
