Luke, the companion of Paul, was a physician.

The gospel now known as Luke's Gospel was originally written anonymously and only attributed to Luke later in the second century, when the Church Faters sought to establish who probably wrote each of the gospels. Scholars say that the physician Luke could not really have been the author of the gospel named after him, so we do not know what job the gospel writer had.

A:Paul mentions a companion, Luke, who was a physician and the third gospel has traditionally been attributed to him.

However, all the New Testament gospels were originally anonymous and this gospel was not attributed to Paul's companion until the second century, principally because the same author wrote Acts of the Apostles and the Church Fathers thought that it could have been written by a well educated companion of Paul. However, modern New Testament scholars do not believe that this Luke was the real author of the gospel. We know nothing about 'Luke', the author of the gospel, and therefore do not know what his job wass.

A:

The identity of the author of the gospel now known as Mark's Gospel is unknown to us. The gospel was originally anonymous until attributed to Mark later in the second century, and scholars dispute this attribution.

.

The gospel was written by a gifted person who used advanced techniques such as intercalation and chiasm more skilfully than almost any other author of the first century. Whatever his occupation, the author of Mark must have been a highly educated man, skilled at the highest level in Greek rhetoric. Only a person from a wealthy family could have afforded such an advanced education. He might have been a philosopher, teacher or religious leader, but he certainly would not have been engaged in manual labour.

What was Marks occupation in the Bible?

In the Bible, Mark is traditionally believed to be John Mark, who served as an assistant to the apostle Peter and later became a companion of Paul during his missionary journeys. There is debate over Mark's specific occupation, but he is often regarded as a scribe or interpreter due to his close association with Peter and involvement in recording Peter's teachings in the Gospel of Mark.

Who is the only author who wrote both a Gospel and epistles?

We do not know the name of the author of the gospel now known as John's Gospel, since it was written anonymously and only attributed to the disciple John later in the second century. some believe the author of John's Gospel was also the author of the Epistle of John; certainly the Epistle of John came out of the same community as John's Gospel. If so, this author wrote both a gospel and an epistle in the New Testament.
