What occurred in the Korean War?
North Korea invaded South Korea. UN Forces fought Communist Forces on the ground and in the air over the skies of Korea. The war was fought to stalemate, ending in an Armistice in 1953.
Because the war couldn't be isolated (Ho Chi Minh Trail) without expanding the war into other countries (Laos & Cambodia), and possibly involving the communist superpowers (USSR & Red China)...which "DID" happen during the Korean War (1950-1953). The Korean War occurred on a peninsula; which allowed the US to isolate the war to only that one region.
Korean War, forgotten because it's overshadowed by WWII; because it occurred too close to the end of WWII. Additionally, "many" Korean vets fought in WWII (so did the equipment: tanks, planes, warships, etc.). Guess which war they preferred to write and talk about? Clue: It wasn't Korea! Another words...the double war veterans created their own forgotten war.
