All 900s 1993-1998 are listed as 10W/30 for the manual gearbox
It should be with the Owners Manual paperwork. If not, contact a Saab dealership with the car's VIN. ... When I lost use of my 1995 Saab 900SE convertible radio's function, the VIN was not enough...the dealer also needed (or insisted on anyway) the radio's serial number. So I had to pull the radio to write down it's SN before they would look it up, and charged me $25 to do it. I'm not sorry THAT dealer (or at least that service advisor) went out of business.

Saab wants you to use ATF +4 fluid.
To tell if the windshield washer sprayer is bad on a 1995 Saab 900 all you need to do is use it. If it streaks, drain and replace with new fluid.
I used 5wXX, I think it was 5w20, with good results on mine. What4ever was listed in the owner's manual. I always changed the oil regularly, at between 3000 and 5000 miles, so used regular oil not synthetics.
Always use synthetic.
what oil do i use when i change my oil in my 1995 Mercedes Benz c280
if you use incorrect oil , type weight , and insufficient oil changes , and time. approx 200k on a turbo is a long time ,
5w-40 fully synthetic
on my saab i use a ph8a ford filter which is longer letting me use 1 liter more oil. tg8a is the new filter that does the same. same as napa1515 which also is a longer filter that fits my saab and replaces the tiny one
5W30 oil.
