0-20
10 W-40 motor oil can be used in your Subaru, with a minor oil leak. The heavier oil will not hurt your engine and may slow down the leak.
5w 30
vegetable or olive
For a 2012 Subaru Forester, it is recommended to use synthetic oil with a viscosity of 5W-30. Subaru also allows the use of conventional oil, but synthetic is preferred for better engine performance and protection. Always check the owner's manual for specific recommendations and service intervals.
3000 miles
Yes! Use castrol synthetic oil and you'll all so get better performance and best of all better gas mileage! Don't forget to change the filter.
I'm assuming that you mean "in", not "on". There is no one answer to this question. You should use the oil recommended in your owners manual for the climate where you live and the type of driving that you do. If you don't have an owners manual they are always available on eBay. --Ken
The 1991 Subaru 1.8 liter engine, should have an oil pressure of 40 pounds per square inch. The oil pressure can vary five pounds, either way, and still be safe.
