The Cullens were all turned into vampires at different times. Carlisle was turned then he turned Edward, then Esme and then Rosalie as a mate for Edward. Alice was turned by a doctor when James was after her. Jasper was turned by some women in Texas to fight in the vampire wars. Alice being able to see the future found Jasper in a diner and they went to live with the Cullens. Rosalie found Emmett when she was hunting. He was getting mauled by a bear and she saved his life. Esme jumped of a cliff and Carlisle saved her. She jumped of the cliff because her child died. Edward was dying of the spanish influenza and with Edward's mother's dying breath she begged Carlisle to save him no matter what. Roalie was beaten and raped by her fiance and his freinds one night when they were drunk. Carlisle saved her so she could be what Esme was for him. A mate. However it didn't work and he ends up with Bella.
Carlisle was turned into a vampire in 1660-s or 1670's;
Edward - 1918;
Esme - in the 19th century, or in the start of 20th century;
Rosalie - 1933;
Emmett - 1935;
Alice - somewhere around 1920;
Jasper - 1863.

In the Twilight series, Carlisle Cullen was the first to become a vampire, followed by Esme, Alice, Emmett, Rosalie, and finally Edward. Each member joined the coven at different times and under different circumstances.
